St. Charles, IL – The new System Sensor FAAST™ Fire Alarm Aspiration Sensing Technology model 8100 detector eliminates the need for technicians to create a separate parallel data network to identify the location of an initiating device. Typically, aspirating smoke detectors require additional hardware and software to establish a complex and very costly network interface to alert facility managers when and where a device goes into alarm, trouble, or fault.
“Due to FAAST's integral TCP/IP connectivity, up to six individuals can be sent e-mail notifications that discreetly identify which unit is the initiating device and the location and details of the event,” says Andy Kuester, System Sensor director of marketing for aspiration products. “Events such as initiation of one of the five alarm levels or ten discreet fault conditions can be communicated. This provides the responding personnel the information necessary to investigate the event, run their operations efficiently, and most importantly, mitigate risk.”
FAAST's TCP/IP connectivity is achieved through its onboard Ethernet port. Beyond e-mail notifications, this interface enables facility managers to monitor the detector from any Internet browser, smart phone, or mobile device with VPN capability. That means responding personnel can know what they need to know to protect their facilities from any location in the world where Internet access is possible.
